Advancing education is our purpose and commitment. The Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS), and the institutions it represents, are conscious of the issues and concerns being raised across the country. We unreservedly support the principles supporting Black Lives Matter and have a zero-tolerance policy towards racism or any other type of prejudice – and have worked with the Scottish Government and others to that end.
Our member schools are listening to, acknowledging, and learning from the experiences of black, Asian and minority ethnic students. SCIS is looking at what more we can do through our resources and professional learning programme to support our members and to ensure continuous improvement in all areas of school life, including recruitment and representation.

Our newsletters provide the latest information on education news and events, as well as details of resources and activities to help you support your child’s learning.
Stay informed of the latest educational developments with a variety of subjects and specialisms to choose from.
